1. CR, FARM BILL, AND SUPPLEMENTAL SPENDING
Government funding expires on December 20th, a mere 18 calendar days away. Both chambers of Congress will be in session for 12 of those days.
Should Congress not come to a compromise on funding by then, a pre-Christmas government shutdown will occur.
2. NDAA
House and Senate Armed Services Committee leaders also have a time crunch on their hands as they work to reach a deal on the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which authorizes, but does not appropriate, yearly defense spending.
3. HILL REACTS TO BIDEN PARDON
On Sunday, December 1, President Joe Biden announced that he would issue a full and unconditional pardon of his son Hunter Biden who is facing sentencing later this month on federal tax and gun convictions. The President has repeatedly said throughout his term he would not pardon his son.
